Westside wins approval for second petroleum lease in Queensland

Westside Corporation has expanded its production acreage in Queensland, announcing today that it had been granted approval for a Petroleum Lease (PL1048) on acreage it had previously been exploring.

The new lease covers approximately 195 km2 of ground and expands Westside’s existing producing Meridian field in the Bowen Basin (PL94).

Westside CEO Matt Wallach said the approval recognised Westside’s expertise and proven track record as a gas producer.

“We’re excited by the potential of the acreage covered by this lease and we look forward to bringing our capability and expertise to PL1048.”

This latest approval consolidates Westside’s emergence as a dynamic participant in development of Queensland’s gas fields.

Last year, Westside was awarded an exploration permit over promising acreage in the Bowen Basin as part of a joint venture with Australia Pacific LNG.

Westside has several other petroleum lease applications pending.
